I’m going to be driving out to LA for the weekend, January 8 and 9, to visit friends, and then heading down to Orange on Monday morning. Anyone else going to be at loose ends the day before the conference? I’m thinking, maybe…Disneyland?

I'm the humanities professor at Yavapai College. Yes, THE humanities professor; it's a small school. Yavapai College is a community college in Prescott, Arizona, about halfway between Flagstaff and Phoenix. My training is in traditional arts and culture; I have a Ph.D. in folklore from Indiana University. It's an interdisciplinary degree, so I've taught a lot of different topics, including anthropology, history, humanities, English lit, writing and cultural studies. I'm particularly interested in how digital innovations can expand learning opportunities and experiences for rural students, augemented reality learning, and developing a Wordpress site as a learning mangement system.

I’ve never had Sri Lankan food, but I do love spicy! I’m waiting on a friend to finalize her schedule, but if I’m still at loose ends, I’ll let you know. I love to try new cuisine.
I’m not much of a Disneyland person, but work gladly meet anyone in Anaheim for lunch who comes down from the MLA early. If you like spicy, there’s a fabulous Sri Lankan place in Anaheim where we could meet that’s a bit off the Disney-path so it’s not too crowded 🙂
